4. As most of the reviews are from those trying to buy a car, thought I should share this on the sell side. I recently had a harrowing experience with AutomartIndia trying to sell my car. It was about a month back that I called the Automart call center when this rather rude lady spoke on the other side. She put me on hold and disappeared for a long time. With great difficulty I managed to get the number of a local Automart representative in Mumbai. When contacted, this, not so gentle man, promised to visit my house to inspect and quote for the car. It took about two weeks of following up and complaining to automart that he finally turned up. Very quickly he gave a quote significantly higher than the earlier one I had got. He also promised me that he would provide me the cheque in two days. To add, he gave a confirmation fax on their letter head quoting the price and date when the vehicle would be picked up. Days turned into weeks and nothing/no one showed up. He would never call and whenever I called, he would do two things... a) give a lame excuse and b) promise that by ’’late evening’’ that day he would give me the cheque. Nothing happened and I finally sold off the car to another dealer. |
