TIPS FOR BUYING AN OLD/USED CAR

PAGE: 1 PAGE: 1 | 2 | 3

(a) People/buyers looking for finance from a bank (READ IT CAREFULLY)

  • First of all, look for the good bank which give you money in very less documents or with the only necessary documents.

  • A person you will find in the bank who is dealing in used cars, he would the first fraud you are going to meet. This guy would suggest you the company or dealer from where you can buy your car... "DON'T GO TO HIS RECOMMENDED DEALER OR COMPANY", because this person will have some settings of commission with that dealer or company, he would try to convince you to go to his suggested company or buyer.

  • These people can bargain on the interest rate also. If you will go the market to enquire about the interest rate, you would find different ineterest rate for the same bank from dealer to dealer.

  • Before you deal with the bank, make it very clear what steps are there if you don't buy the car from their suggested dealers or companys.

  • The above mentioned guy (who is dealing in the old car) will tell you that buying a car from your personal contact is tough and will definately try to convience you to go to his suggested dealer.
but best option is here, you should go to another bank.

(a) Buyers going to buy a used/old car

  • The very first advice is "be confident and take some with you who has knowlege of buying a car". Don't show anybody that you are buying a car for the first time.

  • "Survey the market ". Go and find out the rates from atleast 10-20 dealers, goto different markets and then collect the information. Mention it very clearly that you would see the car properly and will get it check from your mechanic and you would not make the payment on the spot but you will take time to buy the car. They will try to force you mentally in there conversation with you.
  • After fixing up the meeting to see the car, take a local mechanic from your area to judge the car properly

  • Enqire all the documents, if possible check the authencity of the RC(Registration Certificate) of the car from the Authority.

  • If you go to "Automart India" you would find their fake tests on the car which they claim that they check the car from 118 (or something) points which includes shock absorbers, engine, battery, tyres etc....

  • Everything is a bluff / fake in their showroom, My last advice is "DON'T TRUST THIS COMPANY AT ALL".
